This workshop is for both new and experienced flute teachers to explore a plethora of ideas and repertoire for teaching Beginner to Grade 3 flute students.
Karen North biography
Karen has enjoyed bringing music into the lives of children and adults for 35 years in her work as an educator and performer. Karen’s career has encompassed choral/orchestral conducting, class music teaching and flute teaching. Karen was Director of Music at Sydney Grammar (Edgecliff) School and has also worked in government schools at both primary and secondary level.
Karen is the author of the popular and enduring flute teaching method The Young Flute Player, and has more recently published a booklet of Fun & Games for instrumental lessons, together with a series of music card games. This year Karen is presenting workshops for teachers at a number of conferences, including ASME in Perth, APPC in Brisbane, the Australian Flute Festival in Sydney and at MENZA in Christchurch.
